I once lived on a porch. The locals in Hawaii may have called it a lanai, God bless them, but it was a porch. I was a licensed city bus driver in the Colorado Rockies and a taxi dispatcher at Logan Airport. I’ve worked in dive bars and luxury resorts alternately as a dishwasher, a line cook, a host, a waiter and a bartender during which I served everybody from Fortune 100 CEOs to garbage men. I’ve worked on large union construction sites as a non-union member and never once had a wrench thrown at me. I have had a punch thrown at me. By more than one person simultaneously. The police report described me as “the husky smart aleck,” which was more than the Canadian border patrol guards had to say when they detained me in British Columbia during a cross-country road trip I once embarked upon with a few hundred bucks, a sleeping bag and a 16-ounce bottle of Ocean Spray Cran-Raspberry. That’s a lie. I don’t drink the stuff. But I did work on the Ocean Spray account while I was at Arnold Worldwide. Before then, I worked at SapientNitro, Digitas and Mullen.
Other brands I’ve worked on include: CenturyLink, Angie’s List, New Balance, Fidelity, Ram Trucks, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, Bertucci’s, Warrior, General Motors, On-Star, Downy, Gillette, at&t, Tide, Sara Lee, TIAA-CREF, Staples, IHG, Embarq, GameTap, H&R Block, LendingTree, Sealy and GMAC.
My work has been recognized by the ADC, Telly’s, Hatch, Shorty, MITX, The One Club Creative Showcase, Lürzer’s Archive, Adweek Ad of the Day, AdAge Creativity Pick of the Day and Communication Arts.
