The story of my life begins with a girl, her unicorn and her dream of digital marketing. Ok fine, there was no unicorn and I didn’t actually dream about getting into digital marketing, but I sure am glad I found my way here….
Growing up I always wanted to be a DJ on the radio. In my Senior year at Emerson College I wrangled an internship at WBCN and patiently waited for my big break. As it turns out, my “big break” wasn’t becoming a famous DJ, it was landing a part-time gig as the station’s webmaster. *Spoiler alert – this is how I got introduced to the wonderful world of advertising and marketing.*
I eventually moved on from radio and got my first taste of agency life. As traditional media rapidly started transitioning online, I found myself more and more interested in all things digital. Whether it’s using analytics to determine what kind of ad messaging will resonate with people or optimizing website content based on how people behave when they reach a website, the possibilities of learning about and connecting with people are endless. Interacting with people and bringing them information and solutions they need is an amazing gig. Plus, as technology evolves and more and more of our daily interactions transition online, our industry is in a constant state of flux. In other words, the digital world is never boring, and this is a big part of why I love it so much. Plus, I work at an agency filled with smart, creative, fun people driven to stay on the cutting edge of one of the fastest moving industries around.
So yeah, this story has a happy ending. I love what I do and I absolutely love this agency. Picture me riding off into the digital sunset on my unicorn, because that will probably be possible in another few years. #technology
