As a professional who brings more than 15 years of sales, PR, marketing, and social media experience to my role as Director of Influencer Marketing, I look at every day as an adventure to learn something new. If you aren’t learning, you’re stunting your professional growth. Feel free to quote me on that.
My background in marketing to moms proves instrumental in my position at Agency 451 where I manage the agency’s relationship with a world class juvenile products company, but I am also able to offer this experience to other areas of the agency.
Most recently, I was a VP with an influencer marketing consultancy targeting moms. There I gained a wide-range of experience working with hundreds of Fortune 500 brands and many well-known agencies around the country, promoting everything from cereal to “below-the-belt” products. That’s right, anything you can think about that you need for down there, I can tell you all about.
Throughout my career, I also worked for both major newspapers in Boston (don’t ask which one is my fave, I won’t tell a soul around the Globe), a cookie company, and a boutique PR agency where I got to hang with rock stars. All of these positions made for the perfect storm of experience in this new role at 451.
However, growing up I dreamed of a career in broadcasting. When I was 11, I volunteered at the local cable station and created my own feature movies during the summer with other nerdy kids in my town. During the school year, the cable van would pick me up from middle school to produce a weekly after-school local access program. In high school, I joined the telecommunications club to broadcast high school games and interview people around town.
While that career path didn’t pan out, I still knew I wanted to work in communications and earned my bachelor’s degree in Communication, splitting my time between UMASS and Curry College while raising my oldest daughter, and selling classified ads at the Boston Herald.
Having grown up in a little beach town in Massachusetts (known to locals as Marshvegas), I swear I have saltwater flowing through my veins…and always have sunshine on the brain.
These days, I am a dance mom, a college parent, a preschool parent, and the Julie McCoy of my family (for those of you too young to get the reference, Google it).
I currently reside in Canton, MA with my husband Greg and my 3 girls, Emilee, Kaia and Elli. In my spare time, you can totally find me rocking out to 90’s grunge and wishing I’d saved my Docs, as apparently they are back in style. On Friday nights specifically, you will find me with the other moms in my town drinking wine and eating pizza, and patting each other on the back for making it through another week.
