At Agency 451 it’s my job to storyboard, create video content, etc., but it’s what I do outside the office that makes what I do when I’m here a lot more interesting.
After growing up in suburban Georgia, I ended things with the South and fell in love with the very windy city of Chicago, earning my bachelor’s degree in Visual Communication Design from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (and enjoying a surprising wealth of Midwestern Mexican food as well).
Formal design training gave me the tools to create, but a lot of my perspective as an artist simply comes from how I interact with the world. Some geeky interests include Godzilla, Star Wars, robots, urban exploring/photography, and pretending to be a film critic (maybe one day?). I also enjoy scaling plastic boulders with my friends at local rock climbing gyms. I’m not really a dog person, but I try my best to pretend to like dogs since everyone has one (dog, please don’t lick me – I was just about to eat something).
Since I’ve lived in both Chicago and Boston the past several years, I think it’s safe to say I enjoy living up North. I’m still on the fence about the icy Bostonian attitude, but the fall foliage is beautiful and the Mexican food here is tolerable, too, so I’ve been willing to overlook it thus far. This all gives me a unique perspective as a creative: life does imitate art, after all.
